Gwalior :
Gwalior has always been an important city because of its strategic location between North India and the Deccan Plateau. Hence many dynasties tried to claim this land including the mighty Mughals and Marathas. Before them, the city was the stronghold of the Huns from Central Asia, the Kachhwaha Rajputs, the Pratihars, the Slave Dynasty of Delhi Sultanate, and the Tomars—of whom the most important king was Raja Man Singh (1486-1517). The Marathas under Madho Rao Scindia, the last dynasty to rule the city before Independence, restored Gwalior to its former glory. The imposing Jai Vilas Palace, situated below the hilltop Gwalior fort, is proof of the Scindia sway over the city.

This fort is situated at Gopachal, nearly 100m above the town of Gwalior. It's width ranges from nearly 1km, to less than 200m. The walls, which encircle the fort, are solid and nearly 10m high. In places the cliff overhangs and elsewhere it has been clipped to make it steep and hence unscalable. It earned the reputation of being North and Central India's most impregnable fort. Babur described the fort as, "The pearl amongst fortresses in India". The fort also enjoys the advantage of an unlimited water supply, as there are many water tanks on the plateau.

Morning visit the Jai Vilas Palace & Museum
Jai Vilas Palace, the current residence of the Scindia family is an Italianate structure combining the Tuscan and Corinthian architectural modes. About 35 of the rooms have been converted into the Scindia Museum. The main durbar hall is impressive. The Jai Vilas Palace is an opulent Italianate structure, set in carefully laid lawns. Built in 1809, this palace was designed by Lt. Col. Sir Michael Filose. A splendor of a different kind exists in the Jai Vilas Palace, current residence of the Scindia family. In these rooms, so evocative of a regal lifestyle, the past comes alive.
Interesting facts 
The imposing Durbar Hall has two central chandeliers, weighing a couple of tonnes, and hung only after ten elephants had tested the strength of the roof. Ceilings picked out in gilt, heavy draperies and tapestries, fine Persian carpets, and antique furniture from France and Italy are some of its features.
Treasures 

Eye catching treasures include: a silver train with cut glass wagons which served guests as it chugged around the table on miniature rails; a glass cradle from Italy used for the baby Krishna on each Janmashtami, silver dinner services and swords that were once worn by Emperors Aurangzeb and Shah Jahan. These are, besides, personal mementoes of past members of the Scindia family: the jeweled slippers that belonged to Chinkoo Rani, four-poster beds, gifts from practically every country in the world, hunting trophies and portraits. The Scindia Museum offers an unparalled glimpse into the rich culture and lifestyle of princely India.

Agra houses other beautiful monuments also like the Agra Fort, Sikandra and Itimad-ud-Daulah.

Morning visit Taj Mahal. This grand edifice, built by the Shah Jahan in 1631 to enshrine the remains of his Queen Mumtaz Mahal, took 17 years and 20,000 workers to build.  Walk into the inner chambers of this renowned “Monument to Love,” and seek out several vantage points to see the magnificent play of light.  When the nearby Yamuna River is high, the reflection of the Taj in its waters is as clear and vivid as the real thing.

Afternoon visit the impressive Agra Fort. This immense Fort & Palace was the seat of power for four generations of Mughal Emperors; they ruled all of northern India from the early 16th century until the consolidation by British colonial rule in the early 1800s.  Agra Fort’s architecture is an almost perfect fusion between military might and lavish beauty.

Keoladeo Ghana National Park
A World Heritage Site regarded as one of the world’s most important bird sanctuaries. This once-arid scrubland was first developed by the Bharatpur rulers in the mi 18th century by diverting the waters of a nearby irrigation canal to create a private duck reserve. Today the Park spreads over 29 sq km of wetlands, and attracts a wide variety of migrant and water birds that fly in each winter from places as distant as Siberia.

Jaipur

Jaipur, the colourful capital of a richly colourful state, is a highly distinctive planned city, made all the more attractive by the pink wash that most buildings are periodically given. The important monuments worth visiting are Amber Fort - the Kachhawaha citadel until 1727, when their capital moved to Jaipur. The City Palace - which has been home to the rulers of Jaipur since the first half of the 18th century. The Observatory - built in the 17th century by the founder of Jaipur – Maharaja Jai Singh. Hawa Mahal – an elaborate building encrusted with delicate honeycomb screens and carved balconies from behind which the royal ladies could watch the market activities below.
This afternoon, you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Jaipur, known as the  “Pink City” for the rosy hue of its sandstone buildings.  First, visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) from outside.  This is actually not a palace, but rather a facade of 953 airy windows used by the ladies of the palace to watch the outside world without being watched. Next comes the Jantar Mantar, a remarkable astronomical and astrological observatory built in the 18th century.  The giant sundials here are still accurate to two-tenths of a second!  Later visit City Palace Complex complex which is the most important landmark with its numerous outbuildings, courtyards, impressive gateways and temples. The Museum here is filled with an array of textiles, arms, carpets, paintings and manuscripts.

Today proceed for tour of Amer Fort - Set in a picturesque location, Amer is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh, it sprawls on the hillside. Built in red sandstone and white marble, the palace complex has some very interesting apartments, the likes of which are not to be found anywhere else in the country. Jai Mandir, Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Niwas and Ganesh Pole are the prominent areas of interest. The highlight of this trip is the elephant ride up the ramparts of the fort just like the Maharajas of the yesteryears did.
